1^st Winterbourne Down & Buryside Scout Group

Scout Dry Ski Activity - Monday 22^nd March.

Arrive at Churchill by 6:30pm. Event will finish at 7:50 pm

We are planning to go Dry Slope Skiing at Churchill (south of Bristol) again this year as all the scouts enjoyed last year. The cost for this event will be £10 to include cost of Skis, boots and one hour tuition.

(Note this is a Monday event. No scouts on Tuesday)

- Group to be at the ski centre at 6:30 sharp so that we can get the right size boots and skis. The lesson will start at 6:50 and finish at 7:50. Probably be home just before 9pm

- MUST WEAR - long sleeved shirt and long trousers and gloves. Bring a coat and maybe hat if cold or wet. I've been told that the dry slope is sprayed periodically with water to help with the running so it's possible that the Scouts clothes may become slightly damp. If it rains the skiing will continue and the Scouts will get wet. Please make sure they have a change of clothing.

Directions can be seen at the Scout Website www.winterbournescouts.co.uk and look at the Scout Programme and select Scout Ski Meeting, 'click for map' link and then at the bottom left of the map window, click on Google-Maps and you can get directions to the event. Journey will take around 50 mins from the Scout Hall on the motorway, without any delays!

Parents are welcome to stay and watch there is a small cafe there. Please try to arrange and share lifts.

Note: a permission slip MUST be completed and handed in before the event. If we do not get a signed permission slip you will not be allowed to Ski. Please return to Craig by Tuesday March 16th

We have now added some of the details for the Scout Programme this year. It can be found in the Scouts Section funnily enough, under programme. Of course this is a registered area of the site so you need to be registered to see it. This can be done from the Members Area menu (top right).
